Steve's Thailand Dome Home

My latest addition is a Sala (gazebo) on top of my bedroom dome with stairs leading up.

I found some beautiful hard wood that was once part of an old temple and shaped it into my stairs.

As much as I love bamboo, I decided to use bent steel poles for my sala (gazebo). I love the shape. And the lightness of the steel made it much easier getting the structure up, and secured to the dome.

The concrete steps worked out great.

I'm hanging cut glass spheres in the skylights. They project beautiful rainbows on to the walls. I also have beautiful reflections from the lotus pond rippling on the walls.

A grass mat works well under my kitchen counter.

For my bathroom door... I cut plywood into shape , covered it with woven bamboo, trimmed it with fabric and added the glass.

In my shower basin, water flows through loose river rocks to the drain.

I use this bead necklace to hold my shower wand. I can hang it from the lower beads to point the wand at the shower bench.

I ran PVC through the bamboo with a rubber hose making the bend into the spout. You can see the bamboo handle on the left that turns the valve.

A grass mat works well under my kitchen counter. I'll probably add small shelves to the sides of my bedroom passage.

Here's my swing-out stove. Sure saves room on my counter. Also you can see my new glass sink.

Looking into the bedroom dome, where I added some shelves. The curved walls makes doing so a bit more challenging, but sure looks cool.

I made this light shade from a basket used to put over food to keep bugs off. I attached paper containing leaves to a ring that fits into the bottom. I love the textured pattern the light projects onto the ceiling.

Of all my basket lights, this one has the most amazing light projection, filling the main dome with a psychedelic web of trippiness. OK.. I'm freaking out... pleaase turn it off...

These large red ants rule the farm... and are quite tasty... yummmm

I was reaching into my tool bin and right over this snake. I first I thought it may had been I viper, who's bite can kill in 30 minutes, but then decided it must be a python. It was quite mellow unlike the aggressive viper and quite long.

Very popular in this area are rubber trees. These ones are too young to give rubber but sure are making a nice photo with the golden sunset.

While my home was going up loads of mangos were coming down. Some days 500 Kilos would go out.

After Tao spiraled the grass roof up, I anchored a water proof basket over the hole that was left. So now my sala has a nipple.
